The photo on the right is the biggest basket in the world -- a Longaberger basket, of course, in Dresden, Ohio. It's 48' long, 25' high, and 11' deep, made from the wood of 10 maple trees, 2000 hours of labor.
I really enjoyed my first visit to Dresden and Longaberger Homestead. It's an impressive company; I even splurged and made my own basket (see photo at left!), giving me a bit of an appreciation for what goes into them. It's really interesting to me to see how many other businesses have spun off of Longaberger's success -- companies that make accessories and related products to the basket and pottery industry; they line the streets of Dresden.

LOL ... okay, Steve, I added a photo of me holding the basket I made, taken by the Longaberger employee who oversaw my efforts. Pretty good, huh?!
