09/11/2005 Archived Entry: "More on Ohio Speed Limits"
A driver from Ohio (thanks, Jace) emailed me this week with some more insight on my blog post July 29th about speed limits in Ohio. He reports:
"A State Patrol riding on my coach told me that 65 is the posted speed for all buses except for church and school buses. If a local Barney Fife would want to give you a driving award, the ticket should be taken to court and contested. As for the new speed signs ... these are only on the OH turnpike. All of the towns that US 20 passed through had had enough with the massive commercial traffic. So the Turnpike Commission raised the limit to 65 for trucks and lowered the tolls for commercial traffic to keep them on Routes 80/76."
Enlightening ... and that interpretation of the speed limit signs was the way I had previously read it, too. Have to show this to my boss.
