What a gorgeous day it was today! I took an elementary school group to Liberty State Park, NJ today for the ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. I spent a good part of the afternoon walking around the park taking photos (including the above New York City skyline); the weather was perfect. On the way home I saw one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen -- too bad I was driving and couldn't get a photo of it!

Traffic was periodically heavy today, especially this morning on the NJ Turnpike north of Exit 13, partly due to an accident involving what looked like an overturned minicoach. But it wasn't as bad as yesterday, when it took me five hours (ordinarily a three or three and a half hour trip) to return from Washington, DC to Philadelphia on a day trip with another school group. No accidents or construction to speak of -- just extremely heavy volume, nearly the whole trip home. Glad I don't have to drive in traffic like that every day! Tomorrow I'm off to NYC again, and Sunday I leave for a three-day trip to the Boston area.
