09/25/2003 Archived Entry: "Toms River "River Lady""

I took a group today to ride the Toms River "River Lady," a two-hour lunch cruise on a paddle boat on the Toms River and Barnegat Bay in New Jersey. Reviews from passengers were excellent -- good food, good service, nice ride. Of course, the perfect weather didn't hurt any! I didn't get to go along on the cruise because there was no coach parking close enough; coach parking is about a 15 minute walk away, and, of course, I didn't want to make my passengers wait on my return :) . Following the ride we went to Trump Plaza in Atlantic City for the rest of the day. The weather was so perfect I hitched a ride into AC from parking at Hansen's to spend some time on the boardwalk, but then waited until too late in the day to get a free ride back, so had to take a taxi back to Hansen's. $8 plus tip. Oh well, at least my group gave me a nice tip for the day, so it was still a very good day.
