I had a very enjoyable trip Tuesday to Hershey, Pennsylvania, with a group of senior citizens. We walked through the Hershey Rose Gardens just below the Hotel Hershey in the morning, including the Butterfly House in The Children's Garden, where I photographed the beautiful butterflies shown below. Following the visit to the gardens, we had an excellent lunch in the circular dining room of Hotel Hershey (hotel is shown in photo above left). After lunch was a three hour driving tour of the Hershey area, featuring a visit to Founder's Hall (photo above right, with my motorcoach in front) at the Milton Hershey School. The school is one of the most beautiful you'll ever see; nearly 1500 students attend from across the country, ages 4 years old through high school. Admission is based solely on need, but once students are there, their every need is cared for, including food, clothing, housing, education all the way through college if they go that far, and even an allowance. The school is funded entirely from an endowment from Milton Hershey, founder of Hershey's Chocolate. It's a very impressive place.
