11/09/2003 Archived Entry: "Sunset at Singing Beach, Wenham, MA"

I arrived with my group an hour early for their visit to Gordon College in Wenham, MA (north of Boston) late this afternoon, so to kill an hour of time they wanted to go to the beach near the college. We arrived just as the sun was going down and it was almost dark, but I was still able to get a couple of photographs in the near-darkness. This stretch is called the Singing Beach; drag your feet in the sand, no matter what kind of shoes (or even bare feet) you're wearing, and the sand kind of "screeches." I'll have to find out a little more about this -- I never heard of it before, and it's really strange -- but true. Stay tuned.
