I visited Nashville a few months back and had a great time.  For those of you that have not visited or have I have a suggestion for a great place to eat.  I don't remember the address, but it is up and across the street from White Horse Saloon.  Just ask anyone how to get there.  LOL.

The place is called Demo's.  Go before 5pm or after 7pm.  If you go during those times, you will have a long stand in line.  While it is worth the wait, I prefer not having to wait.

They do not take reservations.

Great steak and pasta place and they did comp my meal.   And if you drink sweet tea.  Has to be the best east of the Mississippi or maybe even coast to coast.  I make my own and it is even better than mine.  LOL.

The White Horse Saloon is a good place to eat also.  However, if you order a larger more expensive dish, you pay half price.  Cheaper dishes you get free.

No matter which one you go, make sure you tell them you are the bus driver of the group that just came in.  And make sure you did bring a group.  LOL.. Wink

I passed a group off to another driver in Indianapolis.  It was a relay.  I drove all night so by 7:30 in the morning I was ready for bed.  I checked into the room my company booked for me.  It was an extended stay by the airport.  Now get this the girl at the front desk checks me in and then tells me to be out by 10.  In passing I said 10 tomorrow.  No today,  she said.

We went round and round.  I couldn't reason with her.  Nobody but nobody checks in at 7:30 to leave by 10.  I finally got her to look at the booking in the computer and she saw my company had booked the room overnight.  That was foolish.  Nobody should have to go through something that stupid when they have been up all night.

Believe me I'm over simplfying what happened.  This was a real event.  This little girl was more concerned about getting back to text messaging her friends instead of helping me.

dodrh,

Don't feel bad.  Been there done that on many trips.  Try booking a hotel when on a "Redeye" expecting to get at least 8 or 9 hours of sleep.  You get to the hotel at 8am (or earlier) and you can't get into your room until 1pm.  And then you have to be back to pick up your group by 6 or 7pm.  Where is the 8 hours down time we are suppose to have?  LOL.. yeah right.

If you are lucky, your hotel will have pity on you and if they have a guest check out they will try to get your room ready sooner.  But even then you are lucky if you get into the room by 11am.

When the weather cools down, I have thought about taking an air mattress with me and finding a quiet place to park and sleep under the bus.  LOL.

Don't pass that on and give your company any ideas.  LOL.

Keep it safe out there.
